Titan

Titan® by Cutera is a state-of-the-art skin tightening treatment, but is actually the least invasive procedure we offer! With no down-time involved this is a very popular treatment.

Infra-red light energy comfortably heats the deep layers of skin where collagen fibres lie. This cases the fibres to contract resulting in tightening of loose and lax skin. This brilliant treatment also stimulates the growth of more collagen, with results lasting up to 4 years. Optimal results are seen 4 to 6 months after treatment, and a series of treatments is usually recommended.

Wrinkle Treatments

Wrinkle Relaxers

Wrinkles are fold in our skin caused by the underlying muscles contracting. We wrinkle our skin as the result of facial expression when anxious, worried or stressed. Wrinkles also occur as a result of squinting our eye, eyebrow and forehead muscle when looking into bright light or sunlight.

When we are young, these wrinkles resolve when we relax these muscles. however, as we age, we produce permanent lines in our face by continually contracting these facial muscles. This makes you look older, more tired, stressed or even anxious or angry.

This can be prevented by carefully injecting the wrinkle relaxing protein - a natural purified protein - into carefully selected wrinkle producing muscles. this relaxes the muscle creating a smoother appearance. Once relaxed, further wrinkles are prevented from developing.

The wrinkle relaxing protein only affects those unwanted frowns and worry lines, it should not change your desirable facial expressions and features. The wrinkle relaxing protein can be used for crows feet and also to help open up your eye. This is done by giving your eyebrow a 'lift'. This treatment has gained immense popularity as the results make you look more relaxed, less tired and younger. It is also used for treating hyperhydrosis (excessive sweating).

High temperatures, stress and exercise can increase perspiration, it does not cause hyperhydrosis, this is a medical condition.

By injecting the wrinkle relaxing protein into the affected area its blocks the release of the chemical responsible for triggering sweating. Its helpful to have this done at the start of summer. Both Dr Morlet-Brown and Karin, our Cosmetic Nurse Practitioner do all our injectables at Face Forward.

Skin Fillers and Volumisers

As we age, our skin becomes more susceptible to wrinkles and sagging. Sun exposure and years of muscle movement (ie. smiling, chewing and squinting) also contribute to tissue breakdown of the skin. fortunately, there are innovative cosmetic procedures to help ease this ageing process and sustain a more youthful appearance.

Dermal fillers are temporary solutions that are administered through a few tiny injections to specific areas of the face. The aim of these materials is to restore volume that has been lost by the aging process. Various products are available, however only those that have been clinically tested and proven to be effective are used at Face Forward.

Types of fillers include Sugar Gels, which are naturally occurring substances found in the skin that contributes to volume and hydration. By using a Sugar Gel we are able to create fuller, more defined lips and smooth out folds and wrinkles. We also use these products to help contour the face by enhancing, defining and improving features. The effects of these types of fillers can last between 6-12 months.

We also use a unique injectable that helps lift and smooth deep lines, wrinkles and furrows. It is slowly absorbed by the body and stimulates the body to produce collagen. This takes about 3-6 weeks post-treatment. This allows the collagen to build up and gain volume meaning those unwanted wrinkles and lines gradually diminish. The treatment is tailored to the individual and could take 3 treatments depending on the depth of the wrinkle/fold and the desired results. This type of treatment can last up to 3 years and can be used with other skin treatments

Dr Morlet-Brown is also a qualified trainer who instructs and teaches others how to inject in Perth, across Australia and more recently Dr Morlet-Brown is conducting training workshops internationally.
