Demand for aesthetic procedures to assist in revitalising skin and improve appearance has sky rocketed compared to previous years, from both men and women.

Too much time in the sun and smoking are the number one causes of premature ageing. Antioxidant enriched anti wrinkle creams and nutrient enriched skin care products are very effective at maintaining and in some cases restoring your skin. With severe damage, deep wrinkles, sunspots, acne scars and other skin conditions some of these cosmetic procedures may provide the dramatic improvement which a skin care product may not. Of course only you can make that decision.

Acne is a very common skin condition that affects most people at some stage of their life. Even though acne is a common problem, it can have serious effects on the way a person performs at school, work and acts socially.

As we age, saggy skin becomes more of a problem. This process is due to the fact that our skin turn over slows down, less collagen is produced and so the skin on our face begins to lose elasticity and become more crepe like,  resulting in the development of lines, wrinkles, and eventually deep folds.

Ageing is a normal and inevitable part of life that affects us all. As we age, skin cell turnover slows from a normal cycle of 24-28 days to as many as 38 days. The result is a thicker epidermis (top layer of the skin) and a thinner dermis, which is where the elastic fibres and collagen are found. This shows a thinner, dryer skin with wrinkles, furrow and dry patches that can be crepe like and sag.

The warm golden cast of the sun is very alluring and many people can’t resist spending hours beneath its glow, but not all of the sun’s rays are pleasing. Ultraviolet (UV) light, the invisible but intense rays of the sun cause damage to your skin. Some of those harmful effects – such as suntan or sunburn – are visible right away.
